March 25, 2004 -- MSO.net is delighted to announce that it has been awarded the contract to build and develop a website for the London to Brighton Veteran Car Run in association with its media partner, Motion Works UK Limited. Having won a five-year contract to manage the event by the Royal Automobile Club of Pall Mall, Motion Works will promote this prestigious annual spectacle via the official website, www.LBVCR.com.
This annual event which is held on the first Sunday of each November, beginning in Hyde Park, central London and finishing at Madeira Drive, Brighton, Sussex attracts over a million spectators and is renowned globally. As many as 500 Veteran cars follow the 60 mile route. Participants, whose Veteran cars are either four-wheeled cars, tricars or motor tricycles and were manufactured prior to 31st December 1904 are eligible for entry.
Features of the website will include sections for spectators, participants (who will be able to register their entry form via the site) and media members as well as pages giving the historical background of the event.
The Spectators’ section will give detailed information for those watching the Run including the route and the expected time of arrival at key points along the way so that those interested can view the cars at close quarters. A registration facility will enable motoring enthusiasts to download images and car data and elect to receive all the latest news stories. It will also be possible to purchase souvenirs online.
Participants will be able to check their eligibility for entry by accessing the full regulations document and register online, if they so choose.
